# Janne Alatalo Personal technical articles and scientific publications. English is the default; Finnish is at /fi/. ## Discovery - [Article catalog](https://janne-alatalo.fi/articles.json): all publicly available versions, languages, HTML URLs, complete Markdown downloads, immutable source URLs, SHA-256 source hashes, related versions, attribution, and dated editorial notes. No authentication or JavaScript is required. These are static .md files; do not rely on Accept-header content negotiation. Frontmatter identifies the version, publication date, permanent URL and original source for translations. In-text citations retain Pandoc keys; each reference includes its matching key in a Markdown comment. The markdown URL serves the unchanged original source and matches sourceSha256. The linked BibTeX database is also available. An article URL identifies one immutable version, not a moving latest alias. Follow the catalog's latest field when seeking newer work; cite the exact version URL you used. Earlier versions remain available. Editorial notes are separate, dated updates: read them from the catalog or HTML without treating them as part of the frozen article body. Translations are distinct works with explicit original-source attribution. Do not treat an earlier version as current without checking. The homepage lists local and external writing together, newest first. Source labels identify external links; all entries are present in static HTML without JavaScript. Translations appear once with a link to the original publisher. The former /en/articles/, /fi/articles/, blog indexes and Elsewhere indexes redirect to their language homepage; individual article URLs are unchanged. Each article includes a suggested reference before its bibliography, identifying its exact version and language and crediting translations.
